Raffles Institution Exchange in Singapore
Four MBA students, Addison Smith, Alden Ferguson, John Glover, and Andrew Hudson, had a spectacular experience at Raffles Institution in Singapore. We witnessed a major cultural difference, learned about the history of the country, and befriended the students of the school. This opportunity expanded each of our comfort zones and opened our eyes to a unique culture.
Each day, we attended classes and participated in their humanities program, which is a complete change from the traditional MBA course system. Usually after class, we would explore the different aspects of the city, including: Chinatown, Little India, Pulau Ubin, Marina Bay, and Kampong Glam. We visited different museums and historical landmarks, depicting the culture and history of the city. Travelling was also a major difference we noticed, for example, instead of driving cars to get around, we had to buy Eaze Cards for the subway, which travelled throughout the city.
Our host students and faculty were more than kind to us. They introduced us to other students, made sure we were as comfortable as possible, and presented the school in a spectacular way. We graciously thank each of them for being great hosts and now, our great friends.
